I dont think they'll release it on the 360, I think if anything it's because all the testing so far has been on the PC version. So while that's released, they can work on the PS3 version. Or something along those lines.

It's kind of a shame because although I'll be playing on the PC, I do feel sorry for the guys that were relying on the PS3 version, that's a real kick in the jewels.

Secondly, I bought a PS3 yesterday, in the hope that me and my girlfriend can play at the same time (one on PC, one on PS3), and now it looks like we'll have to take turns for six months =(

I'm happy that we got a "release date" not to say they will push it back but what i wonder is what are the pc specs needed to run the game. anyone know what it is?

Alot.

At least to run it on full spec.

They have also announced that they won't be releasing it for the 360. Some compatibility issue with Xbox Live and Microsft wasn't willing to budge. I guess most newer MMO's have looked at the possibility of using Xbox Live but there are just way more compatability issues than the PS3 regarding online play.

So if you order the Collector's Edition you miss out on the better of the two unique in-game items, the Garlond Goggles... This makes no sense, at all. I'd rather wait the extra 8 days to obtain a Skill-up Bonus item than some cheesy Onion Hat. Am I the only one whose noticed this?

what do you mean by a skill up item? Are you sure that the collectors edition isn't just going to bring both?

That's my concern. On the FFXIV site it states that an Egg Hat comes with the Collector's Edition. Then when you read what comes with the regular version it states that it comes with the Garlond Goggles. The Collector's Edition says nothing about two items or even mentions the Garlond Goggles.

View the information here:
http://na.finalfantasyxiv.com/#/about/game_info
Click on "View Bonus Content" on either version. The Collector's Edition lists 7 Bonus' but doesn't mention the Garlond Goggles, which is only listed under the Regular Version.

dual core 2ghz+/2gb ram/512mb video card. Roughly.

I don't think its going to be as all super intensive as people think, but again that depends on resolution and what not that you play at. A slower CPU like mine will probably make it hard to play on super high res or graphics but as long as u have somethign over 2ghz dual core and a good card medium settings should be ok.

I have a 2.3ghz dual core/4gb ram/5770 ATI and I am expecting ill be able to play it at 1200x at least on medium.

Yeah, pre-ordering the regular edition gets you the Garlond Goggles, which offer a level up/skill up bonus. Pre-ordering the Collector's Edition with all the cool stuff in it gets you the Onion Helm, which makes your HP recover faster after an incapacitation. Having put in your PS3 FFXIII code gets you the Asuran Armbands, which gives you (probably) a Skill/Job level bonus. It's all kinda weird. The Asuran Armbands are hot though, I really like those and I'm glad I'll have them.

I was horrified yesterday when I saw the PS3 release date, but hopefully NA will see an earlier release. I'll just build my girlfriend's PC this fall so we can play at release. Done being pissed at SE, but they did make me really freaking mad. I felt like they got scared by WoW's Cataclysm release, which doesn't affect me or many other diehard SE fans at all.

Pre-order and collector's edition in-game items are just gimmicks anyway. Their effects are negligible at best and the only real reason to own one is so you can act like a dick in front the people who don't.

I didn't mean the whole Collector's Edition was useless by the way (otherwise I'd wouldn't have pre-ordered one myself), I just meant the in-game items that you get.
