Sad about PS3 release. I guess I'll be buying a graphics card for my laptop, haha.

Consider yourself lucky that you only need a graphics card, some people are having to buy entire new PCs >.<

We did not want to create too large of a disparity between those who had a particular item and those who did not. We have therefore imposed certain limits on their usefulness, making sure you do not make them indispensable. Take the example of Onion Helmet, for those who ordered the collector version. It is a hat that can reduce the penalty on the dead because players tend to die easily at the beginning of the game. Regarding the glasses they allow players to more easily catch those who have started one week in advance: it is faster for them to develop their talents.

JeuxOnLine: The glasses have really only been made to catch up then.

SaoriYes, indeed.

Called it! And yeah, Sparx is right. A lot of us will have to completely revamp our PC's, but they will make it easier to play in the future so that the average card and processor can still play the game on low-medium settings.

It shouldn't cost you more than $350 to upgrade your PC to doable limits. Basically the cost of a new PS3.

That is lucky. I bought my PS3 the day before release was announced... If I had waited ONE MORE DAY I would've used that to get a new graphics card instead >.<

MY main gripe is that I can't play FFXIV with my chick at the same time, as we don't live together, and our laptops aren't high enough spec to handle FFXI. We will most likely have to wait until march so we can use our PS3s in-line with our PCs.

You know guys, back in the day i played FFXI on lower settings and did so for years with no trouble. now i have a very solid PC and when i go back im like, wow theres more vegitation in this area than i thought. but its not game breaking at all. if you can play on minimal specs and enjoy the game i dont think the benchmarks are as acurate as they apear. i think this game will be playable by more than we think.

as far as onion helm and glasses. DAMN! the helm looks lame and the glasses badass! but i want all the other gears from the collectors edition. but the 8 days advanced play! why dont they let us choose!?

I guess well have to wait till FFXVI before they release there late release for the U.S.A. is what caused the bots, boredom and gilfarmers.

I don't quite understand the point you're making. If you're suggesting that the game's release date is different around the world then that is incorrect; the game is out worldwide on September 22nd for Collector's Edition and September 30th for the regular edition. If you're talking about the game servers launching during a ridiculous hour in the US compared to Japan and Europe than there is really nothing that can be done about that. When you have worldwide servers then you have to pick a time that suits the biggest market, and since this is a Japanese MMO the most logical time zone to put the servers up will logically be that of Japan.

Also, I'm going to go and ahead lock this thread.
