Damn do they have the same people that worked on the FFXI art working on this one too?

Yes, Yoshitaka Amano has been working with Square Enix for quite some time. He was the lead character designer from I until VI, and continues to do artwork for FF games, Vampire Hunter D, and many other games, manga, and anime. He is the Nobuo Uematsu of artwork, pretty much.
