July 8th, 2010 - Official FFXIV Twitter and Beta Dates!

There are a number of new twitters that popped up, and with them, information of the beginning date of the FFXIV Beta has been announced! Beta will begin this Saturday, July 10th, and will start with the Alpha dates/times. After the servers have been stabilized, they will move into the 24/7 phase, or "Beta Phase 2".

Is it already decided who will test the beta? or should I still be hoping for a key?

They have already sent out the emails. However, it may come to them stress testing at a later date that they invite even more testers. So, there may still be a chance.

The beta will start with the same testers as the alpha phase had, but phase 2 and 3 of the beta will see more testers being added, so there is hope yet.

COMON Stress test! i can do that! ive been waiting a since day one of sign up for beta! hooks it ups wiz the stress testing betas!!!

I signed up for the beta testing, but how do you know if you were picked?

You won't know yet, phase 1 of the beta is only alpha testers. Once the next phase of beta testing starts, they'll email you if you got picked. If you don't get an email by the time the beta's over, you didn't get picked. :(
